I liked both characters, despite Avery being quite an unusual man. It was written in Mary Balogh’s wonderful style. He gets close to Anna and this is how their love story begins. But the new earl’s guardian is interested in Anna…Īvery Archer, Duke of Netherby, is the new earl’s guardian. As expected, they want nothing to do with her. ![]() Also, she finds out that she has three siblings. She finds out she is the daughter of the late Earl of Riverdale, heir to his fortune. They find out and react at the same moment as we, the readers, do. I really liked that the people in the book are as clueless about what is happening as we are. But then, after a few days, things get a lot worse. ![]() Their horror starts with just about everybody around them dropping dead (in the streets, behind the wheel of a moving car) and resources failing (power outage, no running water). We read about this, viewed through the eyes of a few survivors who seem to be immune. One day, in England (but probably everywhere in the world), people get sick and die within minutes. I had read online that Autumn is a very good zombie series, it just took me a while to find it in store (I detest ordering online).
